Lena Viola Cox

January 7, 1930 – June 8, 2018

A Funeral Service for Lena Viola Cox, 88, of North Bend, will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday June 12, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3355 Virginia Ave, North Bend. Viewing will be from 3-4:00pm at the church. Interment will be at 3:00pm Tuesday June 26, 2018 at the Victor Cemetery in Victor, Idaho under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary, 541-267-4216.

Lena was born January 7, 1930 in Victor, (Cedron) Idaho, the daughter of George and Elva (Drake) Taylor. She passed away June 8, 2018 at Coos Bay, Oregon. Lena was raised and educated in the Teton Valley on the family farm with her three younger brothers. She loved being a farm girl. Lena attended Idaho State University where she met William Wallace “Bill” Cox. They were married November 16, 1951 at her parent’s home.

Lena taught school in Portland, Oregon for ten years while Bill went to medical school before they moved to North Bend. She was a member of the North Bend Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in many positions through the years.

Son Konrad Cox of North Bend, OR

Daughter Linda & Lincoln Watson of Salem, OR

15 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren

Brother Rocky & Valoy Taylor of Providence, UT

Brother Rodney & Kerry Taylor of Victor, ID

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William “Bill” Cox, her brother, Ronald Taylor, and a daughter-in-law, Susan Cox.
