Stephen Dale Redwine, 61, of North Bend, passed away Wednesday February 28, 2018 in Albany, Oregon. Cremation rites are under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary.
He was born December 18, 1956 at McCauley Hospital in Coos Bay, Oregon, the son of Manuel and Martha Redwine.
Stephen was stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington from 1975 to 1978, Stephen served as a Weapons Specialist in the United States Army achieving the rank of E4 Corporal at the time of his honorable discharge.
After completing his military contract, he moved back to Coos Bay to take advantage of an opportunity to work with his father at the mill in Cape Arago, Oregon and continued to work in the pulp and paper industry for Menasha until the closing of their local mill. Stephen used this closure as an opportunity to return to school where he studied medical terminology and pharmacology, subsequently passed the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination, and worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Bay Area Hospital until recently when illness forced him to step away. He thoroughly enjoyed his job and frequently spoke of the generosity and support he received from his co-workers.
When he wasn't working, Stephen liked playing foosball, took pride in perfecting his cooking skills, and loved good movies. Having maintained an interest in firearms after his military service, he also collected and maintained guns while enjoying target shooting as a hobby throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Martha Redwine; and his sister LaQuinta.
He is survived by his son Steve Redwine Jr; sister Melodi and her husband Robert; his grandchildren Adriene and Alexis; his niece; his nephews; and his fiancée of twenty plus years, Pamela Brooks.
